Businesspeople discussing opportunities for new trade partnerships at the Turkey-World Trade Bridge 2009 summit, a three-day event organized by the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists that ended on Friday. Having brought together some 2,300 businessmen from 135 countries, 3,200 businessmen from Turkey and various foreign and local government officials and ministers under one roof to evaluate opportunities for trade and cooperation, the Turkey-World Trade Bridge 2009 summit, organized by the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON), is now close to realizing its goals.
All the way from South Africa to buy beauty shop equipment Linah Nkosi, from Johannesburg, is but one of the many examples of foreign businesswomen who sought profitable trade at the Turkey-World Trade Bridge 2009. The owner of three beauty shops and a physical fitness center in her hometown, Nkosi chose to travel all the way from Johannesburg to İstanbul to purchase equipment for her business rather than simply placing orders. Noting that this was her first time in İstanbul, she told Today's Zaman she was glad to have found an opportunity to discuss trade agreements with others. “I will be leaving İstanbul having already developed bright investment ideas, and I am committed to implementing these projects back in my country,” she said.
